Grades are determined as of September 2025.
Everyone plays at least two full quarters of each game.
WHEN:
Basketball registration runs from about mid-June until early November. Applications will be accepted online or by mail UNTIL EACH DIVISION IS FULL.
Online registration is easy and provides you with email updates and notifications as well as access to Sportabiity, the online platform that provide schedules, scores and standings in those divisions that keep standings
If you prefer offline registration, you may mail in your completed registration with a check or money order payable to WCYAA to WCYAA at 1399 Ygnacio Valley Rd. Ste 1A, Walnut Creek, California 94598. Hard Copy registration forms are available for download at “Flyer” at the Basketball page at http://www.wcyaa.com. Players will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis in each division.
Fee assistance is available. To receive a fee assistance application form, email us at www. wcyaa.com.
The season for 1st-2nd graders runs generally from November 8 through January 31. Practices and games are on Saturdays with practices just before games. The Rookie season runs from early December through January 31. Rookie games are on Saturdays with practices just before their games. For specific dates, please see the PDF flyers for each age group.
UNIFORMS:
WCYAA will supply a uniform (Jerseys for Rookie League players and Jerseys and shorts for the rest of the divisions) which shall be worn during all games. These uniforms (jerseys and shorts) may be kept at the end of the last game.
PRACTICE:
Practices are 30 minutes prior to game time. Parents are urged to contact WCYAA at wcyaasports@yahoo.com if they have specific issues of religious or other potential game or practice conflicts PRIOR to registering their children.
TEAMS:
Players will be placed on teams based on age, grade, gender, residence, or school attended if feasible.
The child of the Head Coach and ONE “Designated Assistant Coach” of each team shall be placed on the team they coach. There are no team guarantees of any kind. Sponsors (see below), upon payment of sponsor fee, may designate the team upon which their child(ren) shall play except for teams in divisions which are subject to the draft.
NO PLAYERS WILL BE MOVED FROM ONE TEAM TO ANOTHER TEAM AFTER TEAM PLACEMENT AND THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS OF REGISTRATION FEES FOR PLAYERS THAT ELECT NOT TO PLAY ON TEAMS TO WHICH THEY ARE ASSIGNED.
COACHES:
Prior to being assigned as a coach, WCYAA requires certification as an NAYS Coach
SPONSORS:Businesses and Individuals are needed to sponsor teams. Team sponsor fees start at $295. Become a sponsor here. Sponsors receive a team photo/appreciation plaque and recognition in WCYAA publications.
